केशव पंडित के उपन्यासों के कवर के इलावा पाठकों की रूचि जगाने के लिए उसके शीर्षक भी चौकाने वाले बनाये जाते हैं। आजकल इन्टरनेट के जमाने में न्यूज़ वेबसाइट्स जब इस विधा का प्रयोग करते हैं तो उसे क्लिक बैट कहा जाता है। उस वक्त उपन्यास के लिए कवर के इलावा शीर्षक भी ग्राहकों का रुझान अपनी तरफ मोड़ने का हथियार थे।
अब इसी उपन्यास के शीर्षक को देख लीजिये। अगर आप एक बार पढेंगे तो आपके मन में कहानी को लेकर एक कोतुहल तो जागेगा ही। आप इसे उठाएंगे और ये जानना चाहेंगे कि आखिर इस एक रूपये की दुल्हंन का क्या राज है? क्यों है न?

जवाब देंहटाएंअब मिलेगा तो शायद किसी रेलवे स्टेशन पर ही मिलेगा। दुकानों में तो मुमकिन नहीं है। धीरज पॉकेट बुक्स, जिससे यह किताब आई थी, अब शायद ही किताब प्रकाशित करते हैं।

जवाब देंहटाएंI don't think internet had anything to do with it. English titles have their readership. The problem was publishers used to publish whatever was given to them without seeing whether it was worth publishing or not. This led to disappointment of readers which in turn affected the sales. If the quality would have been there the publisher could have translated them into english and that could have been another market. There are writers like Jo Nesbo, Håkan Nesser who writer in their own langugae but are translated to english and are selling more than well.
